Friday Foto Finish Fiesta

It's Friday again...and you know what that means! Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiesta! Well, Friday Foto Finish Fiesta, anyway.

But we're having another fiesta today, too. Alli's turning 8 and so it's time to partaaaaay. And so for my submission to the fabulous Friday Foto Finish Fiesta, hosted by CandidCarrie over here, I thought I'd share a photo or two of my birthday girl.

Messy, but baby-sweet. I love that little face and the baby fingers. She still has baby fingers. :)

Always at the height of fashion...

And a couple weeks ago at the ripe old age of (Almost) eight!

What a blessing this child is to me. God gave me two very special girls and I'm not choosing favorites, but I'll tell you some of the things about her I love the most. First would be her gentle nature. She knows how to have fun and get crazy, but she's been the little shy, gentle soul who wants to cuddle. No talk necessary. Just be. That's about all she asks.

I have loved watching her grow. It's been a fascinating adventure. And I look forward to the next hundred years of her life, too. (Hey, I'm hoping for as much as I can!)

A Tale of Two Cages

This is my Friday Foto Finish Fiesta. I'm just posting it a few hours early. :)

Earlier this year, my friend Ginny went away for a few days and I went over to her house a couple times a day to feed her dogs and to let them out for a bit. While I had my back turned, getting Charlie (not pictured) into his cage, something was going on behind me.... I THOUGHT my girls were putting Chase into his cage. Well, I wasn't totally wrong.....
So now I've got one of these little cages for our house, too.

ONLY kidding. Although, they look so happy...and so confined.... :D

What a Ride!

Well, it's been about, mmmmmm....FOREVER since I've put up a Friday Foto Finish Fiesta, so here we go.... I guess this photo doesn't need a lot of explanation. It was taken last February at the County Fair. You'd think they were going on a fast-paced roller coaster, but this...I THINK...was the ferris wheel. Brave souls. LOL. Ok, maybe it was something more...spinny...like the Sizzler, or somesuch, but...no...I think it was the Ferris Wheel. Anyway, that's Alli withOUT caffeine and Megan? Well, let's say she likes blues sno-cones just a wee bit.

Gotta love it.

My Friday Photos...and Wardrobe for Sunshine

Before I go into my actual entry for CandidCarrie's Friday Foto Finish Fiesta, (as seen at http://carriestuckmann.blogspot.com/) I had to share these photos for Sunshine. If that $300+ dress doesn't work out (WOW! What a dress!), I thought maybe this fashion of Alli's might work out. I know sunglasses aren't particularly cool for wearing inside...or at a ball, but clearly the shades make this ensemble....particularly with what-the-heck-are-those-little-things-on-the-frames...not to mention the crocheted doily on the head. Feel free to steal her idea Sunshine. She'd be happy to know she helped.


Here they are. My Friday Photos. I saw Sunshine's pics of her girls' first day of school....and the fresh new baby pics and it made me feel all mushy again about my own two. So I went in search of some of my favorite pictures of my girls. My only regret is the quality of the photos, but I LOVE this series of shots. The girls would sit together in a laundry basket with pillows and blankies (here they're using a little green bunny afghan I made for Alli when I was carrying her.)





I can't really put words to why I like these best. To me the pictures speak for themselves. I miss the days when they were just babies like this. Alli, big as she was, wasn't even really talking then. (She took her time...but has made up for it!)
They've always been really good playmates for each other and it's always fun for a mamma to watch her children enjoying each other.







Anyway, those are my favorites for this time around...just 'cuz they're my babies.
